Sterling silver Judaica mezuzah presented to Michel Roux as a Distinguished Leadership Award for his devotion to human rights by the Wine and Spirits Division of the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith, dated June 21, 1990. Ornately decorated with Hebrew letter Shin, crown, and floral motifs. Marked “MC-02 STERLING 925.” Presented in its original framed display case with engraved presentation plaque.&nbsp;These items are pre-owned, previously stored/displayed, with minor imperfections, age-related wear, dust/debris, and surface markings. Weight: 4.8 lbs., and the sterling piece is 63 grams<br> <br> From the collection of Michel Roux, the liquor icon. One of Mr. Roux’s signature spirits at Crillon was absinthe, the anise-flavored spirit known for its popularity among 19th-century artists like van Gogh and Toulouse-Lautrec. It was banned in the United States in 1912 amid concerns that wormwood, one of its ingredients, which contained thujone, caused hallucinations. In 2000, Mr. Roux introduced a legal absinthe, Absente, which used a sister botanical, Southern wormwood, with only trace amounts of thujone.
