Northwest Persian Heriz/Karaja-Type Hand-Knotted Wool Gallery Runner, Circa 1920–1940. Dimensions: 3 feet 4 inches wide × 14 feet 2 inches long. Retail: $1600 Hand-knotted Northwest Persian wool gallery runner, likely from the Heriz/Karaja region, having a warm ivory field centered by a series of large geometric medallions in rust, navy, blue, green and muted tones. The field is densely decorated with stylized floral, animal and geometric motifs and enclosed by multiple guard borders surrounding a broad navy geometric floral border. Finished with fringed ends. An attractive early 20th-century Persian runner with appealing traditional coloration and a desirable long gallery size. Condition: Please refer to photographs for condition. We see no significant issues. The rug is supple and presents very well.
