Two United States military surplus steel ammunition cans from the Ferguson estate, both empty. One is stenciled 100 CARTRIDGES CAL .50 LINKED M9 1 TRACER M17-4 BALL M33 with lot marking FRK-12U-94. The other is a fuze can stenciled N335 8 FUZE PD M557 FOR SUPERQUICK ACTION ONLY, lot 68-506-1, loaded 10-76, and it still carries the warning PACKAGED WITH DESICCANT DO NOT OPEN on the lid. Both are olive drab pressed steel with folding wire bail handles, hinged lids and gasket channels. Paint is scuffed and scratched with light surface rust along the seams and the stenciling is faded in places. Latches function and both lids close. These cans are sought after for dry storage of powder, primers and loaded ammunition, and the dated fuze can has extra collector appeal. Condition is good for surplus. Cans of this pattern stack flat, carry easily by the folding bail and will take a padlock through the latch if the buyer wants one. Estimated Value: $25 to $50 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors. Please review all photos before bidding.
