One welded aluminum dry box from the Ferguson estate, the style built for hauling food and gear in a truck bed, a boat or a canoe. Body and lid are formed from heavy sheet aluminum with riveted and welded corners. The hinged lid seals against a thick black foam gasket that runs the entire rim and pulls down tight with two spring loaded draw latches across the front. A folding drop handle is mounted on each end so two people can carry it loaded. Inside, the box is split by a fixed aluminum partition and carries a removable lift out tray that rests on a ledge, which keeps small items up off the bottom and lets you get underneath without unpacking. There is a small drain hole in one bottom corner. The aluminum is scratched and scuffed all over from use with staining inside and light oxidation, but the box is square, the gasket is soft and seated, and both latches and both handles work as they should. Condition is good. A box like this keeps flour, shells and matches dry when a tarp will not. Estimated Value: $40 to $75 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is.
