Russell Green River Knife and Kitchen Lot

A kitchen group from the Ferguson estate. The lot holds a Russell Green River Works butcher knife with a riveted wooden handle, a turned wooden rolling pin with rotating handles, an insulated Thermos brand carafe with a black handle and lid, a tall Tupperware canister with a sealing lid, five round wooden coasters, a set of measuring spoons and a group of aluminum cookie cutters in bell, star, heart, diamond, tree, lamb and gingerbread shapes plus a small round canape cutter with a red grip. John Russell began making Green River knives in Massachusetts in the 1830s and the name went west with trappers and buffalo hunters, which is why the mark still carries weight with collectors. Condition is fair to good. The Russell blade has a dark patina with pitting and the edge shows years of sharpening, the rolling pin and coasters have honest wear, and the cookie cutters show light oxidation.
