Title: Surreal Architectural Portrait with Clock and Figures Technique: Oil on canvas Measures: 29 x 21 inches Year: Undated Condition: Good overall condition, with strong colors, detailed imagery, and minor age-related surface wear. The reverse exhibits toning, scattered marks, a paper label, and several faint ink stamps. Presented in an ornate carved gold-tone frame displaying wear, abrasions, and small areas of loss. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the condition report. Provenance: From a private Spanish-American collection. According to family recollection, the work was brought from Barcelona to the United States during the 1980s and remained in the family’s possession thereafter. The reverse bears a “Musée d’Orsay” label referencing Salvador Dalí, together with additional faint stamps and markings. Documentation concerning its acquisition in Spain is unavailable. All labels, stamps, and ownership information are presented as found and have not been independently verified. Visual Description: A complex surreal composition centered on a monumental human face merged with architectural structures, circular mechanical forms, and a domed clock-like element. Floating spheres, distorted objects, distant landscape features, and two small figures wearing hats appear throughout the dreamlike scene. The palette combines blues, greens, ochres, reds, and pale neutral tones. An inscription reading “Dalí” appears at the lower right. This composition reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with major figures in modern and contemporary art.
