According to family history, the work was acquired at an estate sale on Long Island around 1989 and remained in storage with other artworks for many years. The reverse bears a label reading “Betty Parsons Gallery, 15 East 57th St.” Documentation from the original estate sale is unavailable. The family history and reverse label are presented as found and have not been independently verified.
