Title: New York City Crown and Skulls Technique: Mixed media on paper Measures: 12 x 9 inches Year: Undated Condition: Good overall condition, with vivid coloration and strong visual clarity. The paper displays scattered surface marks, tonal variations, and minor age-related wear. Presented in a black frame displaying light wear. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the condition report. Provenance: From a private American collection. According to verbal provenance, the work was discovered in 1998 among works on paper and personal effects from the estate of a former New York resident. The subsequent ownership history was supplied verbally by the consignor. Supporting documentation relating to the original discovery is unavailable, and this history has not been independently verified. Visual Description: A densely arranged Neo-Expressionist composition executed against a vivid yellow ground. The imagery includes crowned skulls, crossed bones, a mask-like central face, architectural forms, ladders, handwritten phrases, and energetic linear marks in black, red, white, and brown. References to New York City, “Empire,” “SAMO,” “Made in Japan,” and “King Nasir” appear throughout the surface, creating a raw, graffiti-inspired urban composition. This composition reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with major figures in modern and contemporary art.
