Hand-knotted Persian-style prayer rug mounted and framed for wall display. Features a traditional mihrab prayer-niche composition with a golden field, hanging-lamp motif, architectural columns, floral ornamentation and multiple intricate floral borders in cream, rose, burgundy, blue and gold tones. Rug measures approximately 49" W x 69" H; overall frame measures approximately 62" W x 82" H. Mounted on a neutral fabric-covered backing within a large antiqued gilt-finish frame. Fringe remains visible at the upper and lower edges. Shows age-related wear and variations to the pile consistent with a hand-knotted textile. See photos for full details.
