Large decorative feather headdress measuring approximately 23" long x 9" wide, with an interior cap diameter of approximately 7". Features an extensive arrangement of long dark brown and barred feathers accented with white down and vivid red feathers, along with red-wrapped leather-like elements and long white hair/fur accents. The fitted dark cap is finished with a colorful geometric seed-bead band in red, white, blue, yellow, and green. Interior construction includes hand stitching and leather-like attachment loops securing the feather arrangement. Shows age and handling wear, including fraying, splitting and losses to some feathers, loose/fluffy elements, and general surface wear as shown. Exact age, maker, tribal affiliation, materials, and intended ceremonial or decorative use are unknown, so this piece is conservatively cataloged as Native American-style. See photos for condition and construction details.
