Two vintage hand-painted ceramic Toby-style character jugs made in Japan. The larger pitcher depicts a bespectacled barrister or judge wearing a traditional curled wig and dark cap. The smaller creamer depicts a mustached colonial-style gentleman wearing a brown hat and green coat. Each has a molded character handle and maker’s mark on the bottom. They are from different manufacturers and are not a matched set. Visible crazing and rim wear/glaze loss; examine photos for complete condition.
