Tom Forrestall C.M., O.N.S., B.F.A. LL.D., RCA (1936 - 2024) numbered litho, 6 / 10, "Brook That Leads You To the Sea", 19" x 27", signed lower right, numbered lower left, Contemporary Fine Art Services Inc (Toronto) on reverse (framed). Tom Forrestall (1936-2024) was a highly regarded Canadian painter known for his luminous watercolours and egg tempera works depicting the landscapes and coastal life of Atlantic Canada. Born in Nova Scotia, he studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and furthered his training in England, developing a meticulous and atmospheric style influenced by traditional European techniques. Forrestall was a founding member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and received numerous honours during his career, including the Order of Canada and the Order of Nova Scotia. His work is held in many important public and private collections and is celebrated for its detailed, contemplative portrayals of the Maritime landscape.
