28.3*19.2 cm

Medium: Paper, mixed media Signature: Andy Warhol (lower right) Date: 1967 This work is a cross-disciplinary creation from Andy Warhol's Factory period. In 1967, it was originally designed as the album cover for the self-titled debut record of The Velvet Underground & Nico. As the band's art director, Warhol transformed a commercial record sleeve into a Pop Art symbol, and the banana became one of his most instantly recognisable visual icons. Rendered with flat, minimalist yellow-and-black colour blocks to depict the banana form, it abandons realistic detail and amplifies the symbolic visual impact. This study *Banana* stands as an iconic example of Pop Art "dissolving the boundary between art and commerce". Stamped with the Andy Warhol Foundation seal on the reverse.

ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH NO RETURNS OR CANCELLATIONS.

Additional photographs and condition reports may be provided upon request as a courtesy only.
