Centred with an oval hand-painted enamel miniature bust-portrait of a noble lady, finely rendered with detailed facial features, jewellery and costume. A domed convex glass protects the enamel surface. The square outer mount is richly chased in high-relief scrolling foliate-rocaille ornament, characteristic of Rococo aesthetics. Enamel miniature portrait jewels were favoured among 19-century European nobility for keepsake-gifting purposes.
