Antique Gold Miniature Enamel Portrait Brooch.

D:2.6cm Wt:6.75g

A quintessential jewel from the transitional phase between the late Victorian era and the Art Nouveau movement. The main body employs miniature painted enamel: a profile portrait of an aristocratic lady hand-painted with mineral pigments upon a dark enamel ground. The blended tones of her complexion and the translucency of the sheer veil are rendered with extraordinary delicacy, representing the apex of European enamel craftsmanship in the 19th century. Set on an 18K gold base, the scrolling foliate motifs on the headdress and neckline are executed in chased goldsmithing, accented by one old-mine rose-cut diamond as the focal highlight. The matte texture of the gold creates a striking visual contrast against the glossy enamel surface. The verso bears the workshop's exclusive inventory number "411", an internal mark used by European jewellers of the period for provenance tracing and quality control, serving as the work's unique identifier. Fully marked with antique owl gold hallmark.

ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH NO RETURNS OR CANCELLATIONS.

Additional photographs and condition reports may be provided upon request as a courtesy only.
