9K Gold Cameo Brooch. <br><br>2.8*3.7cm Wt:7.5g<br><br>Mid-2nd Century AD Roman Empire Sculpture {Apollo del Belvedere (Apollo Belvedere)} Housed in the Vatican Museums, classic Archaeological Revival style with historic Archaeological Revival motifs Shell Cameo relief set in British 9K gold Fitted with safety chain and pin, depicting Apollo del Belvedere The original marble statue was created in the mid-2nd century AD in Ancient Rome. Since the mid-18th century, Neoclassicists regarded it as the paragon of ancient sculpture, and it thereafter established the standard iconography for Apollo, God of Light. One of the Twelve Olympian Deities, Apollo presides over archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and sickness, the sun, and poetry.
