Vintage Mid-Century Philmore Super Radio Crystal Set (Cat. No. 336) in brilliant blue bakelite/plastic housing with enclosed Germanium crystal detector, tuning wiper arm, binding posts, antenna wire, matching Philmore "Pure-Tone" 2000-ohm radio headset, and original graphic boxes. Detailed Condition & Features: Included Components: Philmore Super Radio Crystal Set unit (Cat. No. 336) with clear dome glass housing the crystal detector and cat-whisker contact. Coil of original cloth-braided aerial/antenna lead wire on wooden spool holder. Philmore "Pure-Tone" 2000-Ohm Radio Headset with adjustable dual metal headband, Bakelite earpiece housing, and original cloth-braided cord with pin connectors. Original factory cardboard display box for the crystal radio set. Original factory box for the Philmore Pure Tone Radio Headset. Material & Construction: Molded blue plastic/bakelite base, nickel-plated binding post terminals, slide wiper tuning mechanism, and clear protective dome over the crystal assembly. Markings: Base stamped "Philmore" with terminal labels (PHONE, AERIAL, GROUND). Headset stamped "Philmore Pure-Tone Philmore Mfg. Co. New York". Box marked "Philmore Manufacturing Co., Inc. New York City - Cat. No. 336". Condition Notes: Main Unit: Exceptional cosmetic condition with vibrant blue color, crisp embossed lettering, and clear protective dome intact without cracks. Headset & Wiring: Cloth-braided wiring remains clean, pliable, and intact with minor fraying near tip terminals typical for age. Headband exhibits light surface oxidation consistent with age. Original Packaging: Boxes show light edge wear, corner scuffing, and minor flap creases, but retain strong, bright color graphics and solid structural integrity.
