Howson, Peter (Scottish, b. 1958). Untitled work on paper, Glasgow port scene with ‘Sentinel Maria.’ Signed lower center. ND. Matted in a wood frame. Not examined out of frame. Frame 17" x 16 1/4". Peter Howson is one of Scotland’s leading contemporary figurative painters, known for his powerful, uncompromising depictions of the human condition. A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, where he was mentored by Sandy Moffat, Howson has exhibited internationally, completed major public and religious commissions, and earned widespread acclaim for his expressive and deeply human artistic vision.
