Bernstein, Edward (American, b. ca 1944). “Memoria II”. Etching / photogravure. Numbered 2/20, titled, signed and dated 2002 below platemark. 9 1/4" x 13" (Sight). 19 1/4" x 22" (Frame). Matted in a wood frame. Not examined out of frame. Edward C. Bernstein is an American printmaker and painter known for richly textured, architecturally inspired works that merge traditional intaglio processes with digital experimentation. A distinguished graduate of Indiana University’s MFA program, he later led IU’s printmaking area and founded its Venice printmaking program. His art often layers political nuance, travel imagery, and memory into complex, multi-process prints.
