Original Antique British Marine Watercolour – Signed H. L. MacDonnell, Dated 1897 Beautiful original late Victorian watercolor depicting a gaff-rigged sailing vessel at low tide, signed H. L. MacDonnell (or H. MacDonnell) , possibly Hugh MacDonnell and dated 1897. This finely executed marine painting captures a working sailing craft resting on a tidal shoreline beneath a dramatic sky. The artist demonstrates excellent control of watercolor with delicate washes, detailed rigging, and wonderful atmospheric perspective. Professionally matted and framed, the watercolor displays beautifully and would make an outstanding addition to any maritime, nautical, or antique art collection.
