100+ year-old antique Beacon cold blast hurricane lantern. This is a highly collectible, first-generation model manufactured in Toronto by the Sheet Metal Products Co. (SMP) between 1913 and 1927.Unlike the more common post-1927 GSW models, this early version features the rare "SMP inside a crest" shield logo stamped deeply into the fuel fount, alongside "Made in Canada." It is built with the original, heavier-gauge steel. Condition: Excellent Patina: Clean, unpainted historic gray tin finish with minimal surface rust and zero rust-through holes.100% Functional: The wick wheel/lifter advances completely freely, and the fuel cap removes easily. Intact Glass: The clear glass globe and outer wire guard cage are fully intact with no cracks or breaks. Perfect as a historic decor piece, for a cabin, or to add to a Canadian railroad/railway and country antique collection.
