Large vintage Camel Filters tobacco advertising display dated © 1983 R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., featuring bold yellow “CAMEL” lettering above a photographic outdoor scene of a man seated among rocks with a Camel Filters cigarette pack illustrated at left. The lower right retains the period Surgeon General’s warning reading, “The Surgeon General Has Determined That Cigarette Smoking Is Dangerous to Your Health.” The display is housed in a black metal commercial frame and retains a Marketing Displays, Inc. label on the side, identifying it as a period point-of-sale advertising fixture. Condition shows scattered scuffs, scratches, rubbing, surface soiling, and finish wear to the frame and printed panel, with additional wear and losses to the lower white display section consistent with age and commercial use.
