This decorative oval-shaped box is finished in a bold, intricate blue and gold-toned scrollwork pattern, characteristic of early wallpaper-covered storage vessels often used for hats or accessories. The construction utilizes lightweight materials such as paperboard, which is consistent with the period technique of applying decorative wallpaper to custom-formed shapes. Please note that the lid is missing. The box is in aged vintage condition, displaying significant signs of wear and handling, particularly around the edges and base where the material has frayed and begun to separate from the structural frame. Measures 10.5"x 20"W x 12.5"D and a unique vintage wastebasket features a wrap-around design printed with a map motif overlaid with various iconic mid-century automotive logos, including Rolls-Royce, Maserati, Lancia, Bentley, and Peugeot. The exterior is crafted with a textured material, and the base is finished with a solid, dark, padded bottom for stability and surface protection. The item is in good vintage condition, displaying signs of age and light wear consistent with its use as a decorative household object. Measures 16"H x 13"W x 7"D.
