Classic Drexel Travis Court mahogany chest-on-chest featuring a tall form with eight drawers, including paired upper drawers and a series of graduated serpentine-front lower drawers. The case is finished with molded cornice and waist trim, a shaped lower apron, bracket feet, and oval brass ring pulls with matching backplates, giving the piece a refined Federal-inspired appearance. The back is stenciled “1355-1 / TRAVIS COURT GRO / BY DREXEL / 151,” and the interior carries the impressed Drexel maker’s mark. Travis Court was one of Drexel’s traditional mahogany furniture lines, documented in period advertising by the late 1940s and 1950s. The chest shows age and use with scratches, scuffs, finish wear, surface marks, abrasions, and small nicks, particularly across the top and drawer fronts, while retaining an attractive warm mahogany finish and substantial overall presentation. Measures 49"H x 25"W x 15.5"D.
