This model train car is an authentic vintage American Flyer No. 963 "Washington" Observation Car, produced in the mid-1950s by the A.C. Gilbert Company. [1, 2, 3] Production Details & History • Era & Gauge: It is a post-war S Gauge (1:64 scale) model, which runs on two-rail track. • Manufacturing Years: This particular satin-silver painted version with a green stripe was manufactured primarily in 1954 and 1955. It was a key component of the famous "Silver Rocket" passenger train sets. Design Features: The car features corrugated silver siding, internal silhouette passenger figures, interior lighting, and die-cast trucks equipped with knuckle couplers.
