Howard Terpning (American, b. 1927), War Stories, 1999, limited edition lithograph on paper, numbered 338/750. A particularly evocative example of Terpning's celebrated narrative Western imagery, this composition captures an intimate moment between a Native American Crow scout and members of the United States Army during the era of the nineteenth-century Western campaigns.
