A vintage Norwegian silver spoon ring hand-formed from an ornate flatware handle by Th. Marthinsen Sølvvarefabrikk of Tønsberg, Norway. The face displays a deeply repoussé Art Nouveau design of scrolling acanthus leaves surrounding a central blossom with pebbled recessed ground, tapering to a shaped shoulder on each side. Constructed as an open-back bypass shank with the reeded fiddle-tip of the original spoon handle wrapping under the band, allowing modest size adjustment. Interior stamped 830S with the Marthinsen maker’s cartouche and TH. MARTHINSEN, confirming 830 standard Norwegian silver (not sterling 925). This particular spoon design called Wild Rose came out in 1912. This design was manufactured throughout the 20th century but this particular purity stamp places it between the 40’s-70’s. Weight approximately 1g. Face measures about 0.38 in. across the crown at its widest. Current fit approximately US ring size 3.5-4 as pictured on sizer, gently adjustable. Condition: shows oxidation in the recessed pattern enhancing the design; light surface wear consistent w/ age; band open-back intact w/ no cracks. All items are sold as-is.
