Vintage Whiting & Davis 2962 Mesh Change Purse

Vintage Whiting & Davis metal mesh change or coin purse from The Brooch Lady Collection. Features a gold-tone metal mesh body with decorative pierced frame, kiss-lock closure and pale satin-style interior lining. The frame is marked "WHITING & DAVIS CO.," "MESH BAGS," "MADE IN U.S.A." and pattern/model number "2962." Whiting & Davis is well known for its early American metal mesh purses. This example appears to date approximately to the 1930s-1940s based on the construction, markings and style. Shows age-related finish wear and discoloration consistent with an older piece. Mesh, frame, lining and closure should be examined closely in the photographs for condition. This piece came directly from The Brooch Lady Collection.
