Large hand-carved wooden wall mask featuring an elongated shield-like form, deeply carved facial features, applied rope and raffia-fiber trim, and brass-tone decorative inlays. The back is hollowed by hand and fitted with hanging wire. Measures approximately 39 inches tall. Exact country, tribal affiliation, age and maker are unknown; no provenance or identifying marks are present. Offered as a decorative African-style carving rather than a documented ceremonial artifact. Displays natural wood cracking, surface wear, discoloration and fraying or loss to the fiber trim. Examine all photographs for construction and condition. If you have any doubt, please attend the preview and examine all photographs closely before bidding. Estimated Auction Value: $100–$150
