Early Craftsman Wood Lathe & Shop Bench

Outstanding early Craftsman belt-driven cast-iron wood lathe mounted on a very heavy handmade primitive cabinet-shop workbench. The setup includes its electric motor, headstock, tailstock, adjustable tool rest, mounted power switch, storage drawer, lower plank shelf and included turning tools and accessories. The complete workstation measures approximately 57 inches long x 25.5 inches wide x 38 inches tall. According to the consignor, it came from the Woodrich Cabinet Shop, established during the 1940s. The lathe is believed to date from approximately the 1940s-1950s and is reported to remain in working condition. The bench and equipment show extensive authentic cabinet-shop wear, including stains, scratches, paint residue, finish loss and old mounting holes. This is a substantial, extremely heavy piece with excellent primitive and industrial character. Model number has not been confirmed.
