1872 Harper’s Pictorial Civil War Book

Large antique Harper’s Pictorial History of the Civil War in the United States, extensively illustrated with detailed engravings depicting battles, military figures and important events of the American Civil War. Accompanying handwritten collector’s notes identify this as an 1872 second edition containing approximately 928 pages. The notes also state that eight pages are missing. Publication information and completeness have not been independently verified. Measures approximately 16.5 inches tall x 11.5 inches wide. Poor, fragile condition with a separated interior binding, loose and detached pages, edge tears, toning, staining, cover wear and other deterioration consistent with age.
