Antique cast-iron cherry pitter, also called a cherry stoner, manufactured by N.S. Howe Works. Marked "N.S. HDWE. WKS." on the frame and "No. 2 Pat. Appl’d? on the hopper. Designed to clamp securely to a table or countertop. Cherries are placed into the hopper while the hand crank turns the internal rotary wheel to separate the fruit from the pits. Measures approximately 10.5 inches long x 8 inches wide x 5.5 inches tall. Early 20th-century primitive kitchen implement with surface oxidation, finish loss, accumulated grime, and wear appropriate for age.
