Vintage Porcelain Wire Fox Terrier Figurine

Updated September 17, 2026

This porcelain figurine depicts a wire-haired fox terrier seated upright and alert, its rough coat texture suggested through fine incised lines across the back and haunches, with crisp black-tipped ears and a warm tan facial mask setting off its expressive painted eyes. The pose and breed are classic subjects for mid-20th century ceramic dog figurines, a hugely popular decorative category as purebred dogs became fashionable household companions and collectibles in postwar America. The hollow-cast body is typical of the era's production methods, and the glossy glaze brings out nice contrast between the crisp white coat and the darker markings. A charming, well-modeled addition for collectors of dog figurines or vintage ceramic animals. No maker's mark is visible in the photos provided. Condition Report: Good vintage condition, wear commensurate with age. The glaze is glossy and intact with no chips or cracks noted. Light rubbing/wear to the painted color is visible at the front paws, consistent with age and handling. No repairs noted.
