Large hand-woven bamboo winnowing basket, featuring a tight diagonal twill weave that fans out from the deep center to a wide, gently curved rim reinforced with wrapped bamboo binding. Traditionally used across Asian farming cultures to separate grain from chaff by tossing the harvest and letting the wind carry away the lighter debris, baskets of this form remain popular today as decorative wall pieces or oversized display bowls, valued for their large scale and natural woven texture. No maker's mark is present. Measures approximately 17" diameter x 6" H. Condition: Good vintage condition. Wear commensurate with age and use, including light overall soiling and a few loose weaving ends at the rim (see photos). No breaks or losses noted to the woven structure. Please review photos closely; we do our best to catch all flaws but small imperfections can be missed. Dimensions: H: 6", W: 17"
