Description: A striking pair of antique hand-carved wooden figures, possibly ancestor or fertility figures, likely originating from Burkina Faso, West Africa, dating from the late 19th to mid-20th century. Standing 8" and 8 3/4" tall respectively, both figures are carved in a stylized human form with elongated bodies, expressive faces, and prominent ears, finished in a deep, dark stained wood. The pair shows the characteristic simplified, geometric carving style found in traditional West African folk art. A meaningful addition for collectors of African tribal art, folk art figures, ethnographic sculpture, or those building a collection of authentic hand-carved wooden pieces with cultural significance. Condition: Overall good antique condition consistent with age and traditional handmade construction. Wood shows natural surface texture, tool marks from carving, and expected age-related patina throughout. Please examine all photos closely for any cracks, chips, or losses, particularly to extended features like the ears and feet. We do our best to note visible flaws, but some imperfections may not be captured. Keywords: African carved wood figures, Burkina Faso folk art, antique ancestor figures, tribal wood sculpture, African fertility figures, hand carved ethnographic art, West African wood carving, primitive folk art figures, antique tribal statue pair, African art collectible Dimensions: H: 8.75", W: 2", L: 5"
