framed pair of original 1924 copper photogravure prints by the celebrated German photographer Kurt Hielscher, extracted from his landmark publication Deutschland. The first print showcases a dramatic, sweeping view of the Gothic Frauenkirche in Esslingen as seen from the surrounding hillside vineyards. The second print captures the romantic stone archways and winding pathways of the medieval Hohenbaden Castle ruins near Baden-Baden. Both plates feature their original multi-lingual captions printed underneath in English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian. Exhibiting a rich, velvety sepia tonal range characteristic of early 20th-century intaglio printing, this decorative duo comes custom-matted and presented in matching elegant gold-gilded wood frames. Approximately 13.5" X 16". Located in hallway. Must bring your own packing materials, boxes and help to load items.
