Pair of Vintage Round Brass Candle Holders

Pair of round, ball-shaped candle holders with a decorative spiral fluted ribbed design around the exterior. Each has a wide-open top and a recessed candle socket in the base. They have a warm golden-brown metallic appearance with a reflective finish. These appear to be solid cast brass or a brass-rich metal rather than thin plated sheet metal based on the exposed edges, bases, worn areas retaining a yellow-gold brass coloration, and the substantial combined weight. The recessed areas on the bottoms show green verdigris oxidation, which is consistent with a copper-containing metal such as brass. However, exact metal composition cannot be confirmed. Dimensions are approximately 2 1/2""h x 3 1/2"" diameter with a combined weight approximately of 22.2 oz. Fair pre-owned condition with noticeable age-related wear. Exterior surfaces show tarnishing, oxidation/patina, discoloration, spotting, light scratches, scuffs, and areas of uneven finish. The interiors have significant dark oxidation/tarnish and whitish-gray residue. Base surfaces also show oxidation, staining, and wear. Rims have minor irregularities and surface wear. No obvious major cracks or breaks are visible.
