PATTERN TAIBAI ZUN. <br>Height:8.5cm (3.35in) , Diameter:12.5cm (4.92in) Small slightly flared mouth, short contracted neck, hemispherical drooping body and recessed foot, characteristic of the classic Taibai?zun form. The exterior is covered with a variegated kiln?changed green glaze blending green?brown mottled tones with lustrous, rich tonal variation. A circular medallion of stylized kui?dragon is shallowly incised onto the body; the coiling archaistic dragon with fluid rhythmic lines partially emerges beneath the mottled glaze creating subtle visual depth. The base is white?glaze bearing underglaze?blue regular?script six?character mark ??Da?Qing Kang?Xi Nian?Zhi??. Taibai?zun ranks among the most celebrated scholar?studio wares of the Kangxi reign.
