QING QIANLONG LANG KILN RED GLAZED APPLE VASE

<br>Height:14cm (5.51in) , Diameter:14cm (5.51in) Small flared mouth, short contracted neck, full rounded shoulder and tapering lower body, overall plump apple?like contour, hence named apple?shaped zun. The rim shows a characteristic thin white ??rush?grass edge?? typical of lang?yao red. The whole vessel is covered with brilliant gem?red lang?yao?red glaze with fine crackles and natural flowing streaks. Well?trimmed foot ring. Base is covered with mustard?yellow glaze bearing incised seal?script mark ??Da Qing Qian?Long Nian Zhi??. Lang?yao red was notoriously difficult to fire; intact survivors are scarce.
