HYDRANGEA PATTERN LARGE JAR. <br>Height:20cm (7.87in) , Diameter:22cm (8.66in) Robust large jar with thick mouth rim, short neck, full broad shoulder and tapering lower body, representative form of early Ming imperial ware. Decorated in combined underglaze?blue and iron?red enamel. The main body depicts vigorous lions chasing embroidered balls amid blue?painted cloud scrolls. The rim is adorned with floral sprigs, shoulder features ruyi cloud?collar band, and the lower body encircled by upright lotus?petal border. Deep saturated cobalt?blue contrasts sharply with vivid dense iron?red pigment, executed in bold energetic brushwork. Six?character regular?script mark ??Da Ming Xuan De Nian Zhi?? within double blue circles on base. The unglazed foot?rim bears natural aged patina. Lions?and?ball is an auspicious imperial motif symbolizing joy and prosperity.
