This landmark issue features art by Neal Adams, Bill Everett, and Ross Andru with scripts by Roy Thomas. It contains the first appearance and origin of The Defenders team, consisting of Doctor Strange, the Hulk, and Namor the Sub-Mariner.Published in December 1971, the story titled The Day of the Defenders! marks a significant premiere in the Bronze Age of Marvel Comics.This 1971 issue retains bold cover colors. Spine shows minor stress lines (photo 2) and light edge wear. Interior pages exhibit tanning consistent with age (photo 7). Cover remains secure.
