This mid-century earthenware cookie jar is designed in the form of a winking owl. The piece is relief-molded with textured feather detailing and wings, finished in a two-tone brown drip glaze that overlaps dark brown over a golden-tan base. The owl's face includes one large eye with concentric circles and one winking eye. The underside of the base is impressed with the numbers 204 at the top and the letters USA at the bottom, surrounding a central circular kiln mark.Height: 10 1/4 inchesBase Diameter: 5 1/4 inchesThe cookie jar is in excellent vintage condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or repairs to the glazed body or lid. The base shows light shelf wear to the unglazed foot ring and a few small inherent glaze pinholes consistent with production.
