A vintage licensed ceramic cookie jar designed in a film studio motif featuring Betty Boop. The underside of the base features a black printed mark that reads BENJAMIN & MEDWIN INC. NEW YORK, N.Y. followed by a 1995 copyright for King Features Syndicate, Inc. and Fleischer Studios, Inc. The mark also includes TM The Hearst Corporation and states the item was MADE IN CHINA. The jar is finished in a high-gloss black and white glaze.Height: 12 inchesWidth: 7 1/4 inchesBetty Boop is in good vintage condition. Significant fine-line crazing is visible throughout the white glaze on all sides of the clapperboard base and within the interior well. A small brown cosmetic spot is present on the front lower section of the base. The unglazed foot rim exhibits minor shelf wear and light scuffing. There are no visible chips, cracks to the figures, or structural repairs.
