A rare antique English porcelain partial dessert service by Davenport (Longport, Staffordshire), circa 1850s. Rendered in a rich emerald green ground accented by heavy gilt botanical swags and scrolls. Designed in the Rococo Revival taste with moulded shell-and-scroll borders, scalloped rims, and gilded finials. Printed blue mark DAVENPORT LONGPORT STAFFORDSHIRE alongside hand-painted pattern numbers to the undersides. The partial service to include, a pair of covered sauce tureens / sweetmeat jars with undertrays, 4 assorted shaped serving dishes (lozenge, oval, and shell-form dessert compotes), and 12 matching dessert plates. Condition noted: displays light wear and minor rubbing to the gilt highlights, light age-appropriate crazing, and minor shelf wear to the footed bases. Overall, in exceptional antique condition for a surviving early 19th-century set.
