Morris" After Jean-Laurent Mosnier, Signed D.I. Donaldson (1858) Family album caption identifies the sitter as "Robert Morris (1735-1806, F.S.A.), Finance of the Revolution," originally displayed in the "Living Room" at the Harrison family estate "Chuckswood" (per the 1932 Chuckswood photo album, lot 122). Large antique oil on canvas portrait (tag marked "Oil, 20 x 35.5 site size, 34.5 x 41.5 frame"). Signed lower left "D. I. Donaldson, 1858." Label affixed to the frame verso reads "Portrait of Robert Morris." This appears to be a 19th-century copy after an earlier original portrait, dated 1858, well after Morris's 1806 death.
