Wooden model of the clipper ship Red Jacket, three masted with fabric sails, rigging, a brass nameplate on the front of the display base, and a small United States flag at the stern. The hull is painted black over a light lower body and the model measures roughly 12 to 13 inches long. Condition is good overall with two flaws to note, a spot of blue paint spatter on the hull and torn red felt on the underside of the base. The real Red Jacket was an extreme clipper launched in Maine in 1853 and still holds one of the fastest sailing records for a westbound Atlantic crossing, which keeps her a popular subject for ship models.
