Allegorical Reading Cupid. <br><br>H:23.5cm W:24.5cm<br>1. Main figure: A nude putto (Cupid) sits quietly holding a book, symbolizing knowledge and scholarly pursuit. 2. Motifs surrounding the clock case: Laurel wreaths, trumpets, sketchboards and painting tools, all allegorical ornaments related to literature and the arts. The clock dial is set off by wine-red glazed drapery. 3.
