A woven cotton tapestry throw blanket manufactured by Goodwin Weavers, featuring a reproduction of The Saturday Evening Post magazine cover from November 3, 1928. The central design, set within an oval frame, depicts a hunting scene after original artwork by J.F. Kernan. The image shows a man in a brown outdoor coat and hat, seated and petting a black and white spotted hunting dog. A shotgun leans against his leg, and harvested game birds are displayed at his feet. The background shows an autumnal landscape with birch trees and falling leaves. The blanket is finished with multicolored fringed edges. The masthead text includes THE SATURDAY EVENING POST along the top, a date banner reading NOV. 3, 1928 on the left, and 5c. THE COPY on the right. The artist's signature J.F KERNAN- is woven into the bottom right corner. A manufacturer's label is sewn to the reverse corner, reading Goodwin Weavers est 1812 and 100% COTTON/COTON with care instructions and a copyright notice for THE CURTIS PUBLISHING CO. Condition: This textile is in good condition with minor surface pilling and light wear consistent with use. The woven design remains clear and the fringe is intact. There are no visible stains, tears, or major structural issues.
