One oil on canvas landscape painting depicting a tranquil river flowing through a valley toward distant snow-capped mountains. The composition is flanked by mature trees rendered with thick, gestural impasto and palette knife work, creating significant texture in the foliage and along the riverbank. The water reflects the cool tones of the sky and surrounding landscape. The work is signed Brantenberg in the lower left corner and features a small metal nameplate on the lower inner frame edge inscribed O. BRANTENBERG. The canvas is mounted on a wooden stretcher with corner keys and bears handwritten numbers 50 and 65 on the verso. The painting is housed in an ornate, gilded composite frame decorated with scroll and acanthus leaf motifs. Dimensions: approx. H 30 in x W 25 in (Frame). Condition: The gilded composite frame displays visible cracking in the molding, particularly at the mitered corners and along the scrolled edges. There is surface wear, minor discoloration, and small areas of loss to the gilding. The painting surface appears stable with no evidence of major restoration.
