A rectangular wall mirror featuring an ornate Rococo revival style frame. The frame is constructed of wood with decorative gesso or composition moldings finished in a gold-tone gilt. The design incorporates scrolling acanthus leaves, C-scrolls, and prominent shell motifs at the four corners. The reverse side of the wooden frame bears handwritten pencil markings, including the numbers 18 x 20. Dimensions: approx. H 26 in x W 22.5 in. Condition: The mirror plate shows significant signs of age with widespread foxing and silvering loss throughout. The frame exhibits age-related wear, including visible cracking to the composition elements, minor losses to the molded details, and tarnishing to the gilt surface.
